Why i should choose laminate flooring or when should i choose laminate flooring?
In Kuala Lumpur, there is a lot of Condo or Apartment floor, even some double storey house flooring facing an issue where their 2′ x 2′ porcelain tile floor has pop up due to no reason….( it may affect by the movement of the building, or the workmanship of the tile installation, or the tiles its self is not stable for hot weather etc) .
If you remove your 2 x 2 tiles, partially or fully, then you will need to look for new floor finishing. The faster and suitable finishing is / will be install laminate flooring or vinyl flooring. The reason is as below:
- The 2’x2′ porcelain tile thickness is 10mm. If you have remove the 10 mm, then you may need to look for a material that thick around 10 mm to replace on top of it, then it wouldn’t affect your door, built in furniture etc.
- The 2′ x 2′ porcelain tile has no issue to remove, however the cement screeding at the back of the tile will stick very strong on the cement where it is very difficult to be removed and the cost to remove it is high…so better just leave it.
- Then render a thin layer of the cement on top before install the laminate. The think layer of cement may be less than 3mm.
- When install the laminate, a layer of 2 mm form will be laid before installation. Then total height will be laminate 8mm + 2mm form= 2-3 mm thin cememt = 12 mm….almost match your existing floor.
Some of the customer has contacted us for repair a 3 years vinyl floor or 5 years old laminate flooring. All the design of the vinyl and laminate have change every year or every 6 month… the design and the colour will definitely different. 3mm / 4mm Vinyl Flooring
Good quality vinyl flooring come with different color and type. Choose your prefered color and we will handle the rest. This flooring is water-resistant, anti termite. It come with 5 years warranty. The vinyl floor come in 3 mm, install by glue or 4mm, by TnG.
Not all the area suitable to install vinyl flooring, the above tile pop up condition is suitable to install it. Vinyl floor can also be install on top of tiles flooring with a layer of self leveling cement on it, it can install on plywood and also existing cement floor.
Vinyl floor is water – resistance for water come from the surface, but not moisture from the below. If you wanna install it on ground floor, which your area is close to swimming pool or area that discharge water, then the glue under the vinyl will never dry and will always is liquid form that not stick on the floor.
