the above cement floor shining is because of polishing work. Not apply any sealer or coating. The proper way to do the cement flooring is to clean the floor by diamond cut, to remove the dust and dirt on surface. Then polish the floor to become shining. For residential and home, usually we will suggest shining finish. For office or restaurant, may go for matt/ semi gloss finish. For factory, matt finish and apply hardener will be a good choice.
Please check with your contractor the method they do for polished cement floor, because some of them just go hardware shop and buy a lacquer to varnish the floor. They didn’t clean the floor and will ruin the floor. Cost to remove lacquer and redo polishing will be higher.
Many cafe, retail shop or office now using polished cement finish as it is more easy to clean and maintain, also easy when returning the unit to landlord.
