Tile Floor Polishing

Many of owner facing issue on scratched tile flooring when they move in when developer handover the unit. You may not know about tile. In the market, there are several type of tiles which i can explain as follow:-

1. Glazed Wall Tile that you might use for the kitchen wall, it looks really nice with shining finish, surface color if you see from side, it is like a piece of paper on top of the tiles. This tile after install, please do not use acid to wash it. Kindly request your tiler once install, straight away wipe it clean. Do Not wait until second day.
2. Ceramic floor tiles which you use it for toilet floor or kitchen floor. Rough. you can see the tile may come in 1 solid color only. which suitable to use for kitchen top or staircase steps as after grind at the edge, it looks same color. Tiller may use acid to clean the tiles after installation. It is ok to do so.
3. Porcelain tile that always come in 2′ x 2′. solid color, in Malaysia, most of the tiles is cream color. This is shining finish and you can see from the side, the cream color is about 1-2 mm then only the tile color, grey. This is the tiles that we can do polishing and also in the market, easy to get scratches. Many cleaner do not know about the characteristic of this tile, then they use strong detergent clean it up..and this it the headache time as it will ruins the tiles, rust the surface, eat the shining.

What we can do is to remove the scratches of the tile by grinding , then do polishing work. The polishing will last as long as the original tile shining. However, please bear in mind that if the grout lines of the tiles is lower than tiles, then some of our polishing gel may stuck there and change the cement grout line color to lighter. But this cannot avoid and you can only choose to remove the scratches or to have different color grout line.

Porcelain tile is harder than marble, so the polishing cost is higher than polish marble. But the outcome will surprise you.
